About Grenamier

This is allegedly my picture.
I’m a thirty-something father-of-two, husband-of-one clerical worker in the automotive field. I have opinions about a lot of things, but I don’t believe opinions are things to be forced on others. When I’ve got one to share, I’ll put it out and you can do whatever your heart desires with it. I’ll be tickled if you write back to me and let me know what you did.
If you want me to spout off about something that’s on your mind, share it with me and maybe I can offer you a different idea.
I love learning. And not just about any one particular topic. Every once in a while, something catches my eye… golf, football, knitting, Kendo, anything… It captures my imagination and I dive right into it, reading it, breathing it, sucking the essence out of the bones. At some point, I feel like I kinda have a feel for what it’s about and I start looking to learn something new. Drives people nuts when they go shopping for me.
We have two Macs at home. A first-generation black MacBook and a current 24″ iMac. Love them both, but the iMac gets all my face time because I use it to play with the photos from our Nikon. The iMac in the picture was passed down to my brother ages ago. It might give you an idea of how old the photo is.
Speaking of the photo, it was taken by my wife with an old Pentax 35mm SLR she’s had since she worked for her high-school newspaper. I love old technology. The other camera we have is a Mamiya RB67 medium-format camera that’s as heavy as a tank and has auto-nothing on it. But it takes great pictures. I also cut my grass with a reel mower and I sign my name with a fountain pen. And cook with a cast-iron frying pan. I believe in progress and advancement as much as anyone, but there’s real charm in some of the older stuff that gets pushed aside and all-too-quickly forgotten.
